Human development is a lifelong process. We are capable of learning and growing throughout all of our adult years. I am especially interested in how we develop in the context of our closest relationships ~ from our first intimate relationship with our parents or other caregivers, to the relationships we choose (with partners and spouses), to the unique relationships we experience with our children and grandchildren.
The study of attachment ~ how we form and experience primary bonds with significant others throughout our lives ~ is the basis of my approach to psychotherapy with individuals and couples. My passion for supporting the development of healthy, secure relationships has led me to focus part of my clinical practice on working with new and expectant parents as they navigate the transition from partners to parent and incorporate a new attachment relationship with their infants.
